My husband and other relatives have been doing triathlons now for about ten months. It took a while, but I have the bug. I will be doing my first triathlon on October 17th in San Diego. It is the Reebok Women's Triathlon. If any of you have some good tips for a 41 year old just starting out, I would like to hear from you.

Hi Marcy,

Welcome!! My mother did the same race last year, and I'm doing the Seattle leg this September!!! Best of luck, I hear it's a great race!

This is the place to go for tips. Search around on the "Triathlon Talk" forum and you'll find tons and tons of information...it's an amazing resource!!

Welcome, and best wishes!!!

Marcy, I just went back and looked at my logs from when I 1st started and I couldn't run for longer than 1 solid minute (I use the word run loosely, at my run speed most people could speed walk just as fast.) My point is that your way ahead of the game and your going to do great in Oct.

One other thing remember, it’s all about the journey, have fun.

Hello!

This is my first time on this forum.

Congrats on choosing the Reebok Triathlon Series.

I just did the triathlon in naperville, IL. It was my first tri. It was an incredible experiecnce, although I was off my goal by 10 minutes, I had the most amazing time.

Good Luck on your tri and I can't wait to read the race report!
