So I'm less than 2 weeks out from my first tri and nervous as heck. I've never done any type of race before, much less one that requires 3 disciplines. Oh and lets not even think about transitions...how the heck do you make sure you remember everything. How do you even know what everything is? I think thats what makes me the most nervous. I've trained for the physical part of that (I'm sure not enough), so I know its just a matter of knowing I can do it, and then just doing it. But what do you do when you first get to the race? If the race starts at 7:30, what time should I get there? Its a pool swim, will I have to dive in or will I jump in and push off the wall? How do I set up the transition area? What should I be eating/drinking in the days ahead? I've been culling the articles in here, so I think I have answers to some of my questions....but it just makes me nervous.......

welcome and a few ideas:  get their as early as they let u...5:30?  6:00?  u will get set-up in the transitions, numbered and chipped and done with all the stuff way before the lines and pandemonium set in...u can just sit-back and relax and observe.  this helps me a lot to calm down.

awesome luck!

Yep, get there early!  Run through what you'll do at each transition in your head and write down the stuff you'll need.  And bring a towel (old, dirty one) to put stuff on and dry your feet.

Good luck!
