I wonder if the people who run BT would consider breaking down the forum categories to include swim, bike, run specific categories. I think this would make it easier for us to search for tips on a specific aspect of training rather than poring over pages of stuff we aren't looking for. Anyone know who to contact with this idea?

You'd contact Ron & Marmadaddy, probably in the training and nutrition logs forum.

However, let me be the first to voice a strong NO!!! to this suggestion.

Send a PM to   HANGLOOSE.  He is the master of all things computer related.

Better yet, send a message to Ron or Marmadaddy.

There is a search function that helps ya find pretty much what you are looking for.  I like having it all under one forum personally as I never know what kind of tips I might come across for any sport.

At the moment, probably not.  Although 'yes', your idea would lend more towards organization and quick finding of information, I think it would split things up too much and the forums would be too fragmented and Triathlon talk would slow down considerably.  Your question is asked a lot though. Yes, try the search function.  It's usually working and does the job.

I would consider this only if the 'active posts' in triathlon talk exceeded 2 pages every day...we're not there yet as far as growth.

I wouldn't like that... it would break it up way too much. Just my personal opinion. I like how it is now

Since your checking, can you make something that swims for me?  I suppose it would be tough to have a waterproof laptop, but if you guys come up with this, I know some folks that might be interested.

There could be a compromise but I don't know how big of a step it is technologically.  When a person starts a thread in tri talk they could be given an option of classifying it as swim, bike, run, or other options.  Then the general/default view would be as now.  But there could be a shuffle button to relist the threads by category.  The individual viewer could switch back and forth at their own leisure.  Like a lot of people, I prefer the way it is now but there are times when I'd like to be able to see all the threads about one subject or another if I'm looking for discussions about that subject.

Please don't hate me, Ron.

Didn't forget the font.  Was hoping you would actually get a PM with a BT technical question.  Am sure the look on your face...if I could see it...would have been worth it.

Excellent suggestion.  That would keep everyone happy and bring some improvement.  Will add that to the list.

Let me weigh in wiith a No.  The serach function here works fine.  I have found in boards in the past that splintering the threads too much leads to a much less user friendly board.

Instead of a simple S/B/R classification, we could implement tagging threads, maybe with some sort of autocomplete function like the Google toolbar.
