I'm a man of average health...OK, so much for trying to do the Rolling Stones rip.

I'm a middle of the pack Adventure Racer and have never done a tri.
I live in Venezuela and found this page as I was searching for a training program for newbies.

Greetings to all!

Checking out the site!

Lots of activity...the training log is great!

COgirl: Well, down here (Venezuela), there's about 8-10 adventure races throughout the year. So I pretty much do whatever promotors set up, which is usually 12-24 hours...There IS one expedition race in the year (my favorite www.turistologo.com if you read Spanish).

However, there are several triathlons, including an iron distance, two 1/2 iron and countless sprints.

I got ITB syndrome from training and racing with a backpack, so I started swimming and jogging more often and spending less time in the mountains. So I figured, since my training now resembles triathlon preparation, I might as well race tris from time to time.

My first one will be Olympic-distance in October.
