Not sure if I saw something like this before but............

There are charts than can help (kinda-sorta), predict what your finishing time will be fore a marathon:
example: If you do a 1/2 mary in X time, you "should" be able to do a full in Y time.

Is there such a thing for a full, or even a 1/2 IM? My guess is no due to the lgistis of three disciplines combined.

Thanks

I was told by a few people that you can take your 1/2 IM time, double it and add an hour and that should be pretty close to what you'll finish in.

Unless you come unglued on the marathon....but that never happens

Very interesting site that seems to do a pretty damn good overall estimation for me.

I put in my numbers and choose the hilly course and it spat out pretty much my exact times for the swim and bike splits at IMLP earlier this year.

That being said though, I had lousy course management on the bike and definitely should have had a faster split, so I think the bike is pessimistic. That opinion is reinforced by the fact that for a flat course it has the bike split at 5:50. A training partner of mine who has the same power profile on the bike did 5:20 at IMAZ.

The run, on the other hand, is optimistic for me. Despite the training volume I'm looking at, I don't see running 8:34 miles on the run at IMAZ in April.

Still, for a flat course it estimates 10:55. My goal is sub-11 at IMAZ so we'll see how it holds up.

Maybe if you bike 5:50, you could run 3:45.

That calculator is amazingly accurate!

I inputted my training for each of the last 3 years and each time it came within 15 minutes of my  3 IMLP finish times.

Cool

I could probably ride 6:30 and still not run 3:45. :p

For my HIM, it projected about 30 minutes slower than I finished.
