Subject: TxDot ELIMINATES bicycle faciltiy funding

Please see http://www.biketexas.org/content/view/841/71/ the Texas Bicycle coalition page for details.  The bike coalition is asking for written support to reverse TxDot's decision to eliminate support for bike trails and other 'enhancements' till 2009.    Please take time to support this if you can.  If bicyclists don't speak up TxDot will continue to think only of Automobiles.   Thanks

I recently sent an email to Bill White suggesting that the HOV lanes be opened to runners and cyclists on the weekends. This would be a safe alternative to riding on the roads.  I mentioned the TX dot decision in the email.  Nothing back so far.
