Good point Comet. So I guess he fits right in, but can't we just pick on him to deflect part of our dementedness to him?

How about that my wife thought I was normal until she called me SANTA CLAUS a couple years ago. Now that I found this site (2 months ago) she is wondering how smart THAT comment was.

Performance Bike has the Polar S150 for $79.99 (was $139.99).

http://www.performancebike.com/shop/profile.cfm?SKU=14298&subcategory_ID=4115

Also, I know it's quite a bit more than $100 but I saw the Garmin 301 on walmart.com for $154.88:

http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=3556738.

Otherwise, I would say always check the classifieds forum and you never know what will turn up.  I actually got a used Polar S120 for FREE!!!  So, you'll never know what you'll find.  Good luck

Mike:

HRM and Zones:

I imported a training plan and it tells me how many minutes I should S/B/R for.  At what zone/effort should these minutes be? I just got an HRM and want to introduce it into my training.

Thanks.

Tim

For someone starting out, they should be in Z1-Z2.  You should feel like you're working but you should be able to carry on a conversation. Don't worry about higher intensity. That will come later. For now you have to build a solid base.

Don't worry if it feels too easy. Lots of people feel that way in Zone 1 or 2 at first.

Am I then, better off without a HRM for a while? I run in that comfortable area most of the time, now as I am trying to build a base of aerobic capacity...

I wouldn't say you're better off but you may be just as well off. When you're starting out there are generally huge gains to be made by simply putting in the time.

I know what you mean about training..I received 3 separate messages today warning to not over train..I heeded advice and took an off day.

When you say you're already lookin...is that at a bike..or at an OLY distance so you can get the bike??

Is switching groups because my mentor roots for the hated and loathed New England Pats a valid reason??  How about a bet Mr. Marma??  Put your training where your mouth is....say something like 100x100, or post picture wearing other teams T-shirt that must be bought(after your Mary of course).  And don't forget about the 16 point spread.....

Beli-CHICK is a vindictive cry baby and holds grudges longer than anybody.  He's pissed that Mangini, formerly his defensive coordinator, took the Jets head coaching job.  Beli-CHICK's problem is 2 pronged...1st the fact that Mangini left and 2nd he went to the hated Jets...a organization that Beli-CHICK torched when he left.....yea yea yea I know he's won however many Supes...

Since you are now the self-annoited Avatar King...maybe we'll make an avatar bet??  I haven't heard from you yet....are you worried about the fact that Brady is the only QB in the league who can't throw the ball further than Pennington??
