I AM!

Myrtle Beach Half.  and I am ready.......I hope.  I know I am ready to give it a 110% effort, and I know I am well trained, so I should be ready to put in a great showing.  I hope I make it to the MOP. (Middle 30%)

I've been working super hard lately. I am LESS than 40 days out. I have another REALLY hard week this week. I am feeling very ready for this race. Now I am starting to worry about the little things.

Hope thing are going well for all......I am well, just a little concerned because my training schedule for this weekend is a 20 miler. The problem, other than that is a long way, is I have to go to work that evening. I have to be at work for 1400 (2:00 pm) and I am not sure I will fell like doing much after 20 miles and it would make for a long day. I probably should have done 20 this past weekend, but that option is no longer an option.  What are your thoughts on this.........

I have to be at work for 1400 (2:00 pm) and I am not sure I will fell like doing much after 20 miles and it would make for a long day.

Ok Steven, we are in this together this weekend.  I too need to get in 20 miles on Sunday.  This will be my longest run since December I think.  I also need to get my girls at 1 pm on Sunday and need to be ready for their level of activity.  So, we are in this together.  Let's hold each other accountable.  As an FYI, after I ran Shamrock Marathon last year, I was at work 2 hours later and put in a 10 hour day after that.  I always find that it hits me harder 2 days after the long run.  So, if you put in 20 this weekend, I am right there with you.

How is everyone else doing???  If you've seen my logs, I had some issues training properly last week.  However, I am right back to it this week.  I will catch up with the group over the next couple of days.  It looks like we lost Bel - too bad.

Congrats again to Keith on a great run on Saturday!

Safe training gang!

Overall, I am doing pretty good. I am seeing and feeling improvements in my running and biking. I probably need to get more swim time in but it is hard to find the time right now. Work is as busy as ever in a good way, but that brings with it a fair amount of stress.

On my immediate horizon are a 7K race on March 11th and right after that is a rugby tournament for which I will be in Savannah, GA from March 14th to 19th. I am trying to balance rugby with other aspects of my life and training right now and will see how that works out.

my legs are absolutely trashed today. I am so happy I have 36 hours off.

I leave in 5 weeks. I just arranged for bike transport.

Everything is starting to fall into place.

Well here is my plan now...I was able to take Friday off so I will do my long run tomorrow rather than Sat or Sun. I have been trying to recruit some of my friends to run with me but little things like work are getting in the way. My buddy I am running the marathon with will be out of town, my wife will be working, so it looks like it will be me and mile after mile. I have one friend who may come and run the first 5 with me.

Hope all of you are doing well. I have been checking in on everyone and it is amazing the time and effort y'all put in. Keep it up.

Hi everyone,

Hope this day finds you all well. Training for me this week I feel has been acceptable but not outstanding. As with all of us this darn thing called "work" seems to get in the way. I feel I need to concentrate much more on form and effency than distance. I've found that even though the distances (time) for training isn't really an issue in my swim & bike I need to become more effencent.

Still struggling with my running but I guess I need to expect and accept that as starting a running program at my age needs to be a much slower process than I originally thought. The old sports & work injuries have really taken their toll.

What hasn't killed me makes me stronger!!! I WILL stay and BE strong!

Hope you all have a blessed day!

Peace

What are everyone's training plans for the weekend?

As I said earlier, I have a 20 mile run on Sunday. On top of that, 90+ minutes on the trainer and 45 minutes in the pool at some point.

Happy Friday and have a great weekend everybody!  Safe training.

Friday night was a 1600 yd swim.

This morning was a 10 mile ride at the gym.

Tomorrow remains to be seen, but probably a lift/run combo.

Everyone else keep up the great work. I love seeing the updates and seeing you all doing well.

I got a run in today.  It was a nice one.

I am now back from that bad place that was half mary recovery-ville.  Need to start training 3 sports, and I have 6 weeks to get ready for my first sprint triathlon.

Well I trust everyone is doing well. I am. It looks like March 18 will be here soon. Doug asked me the other day what my goal pace will be. I am not sure. A friend of mine is running the marathon also and it is his first. I don't know if I will stay with him or venture out on my own. My buddy (Sam) has not put in the mileage, so I do not know how it will go. Me and Sam are going to run this weekend so I will see how he is doing.

I will start my Triathlon training shortly and will be glad to mix up the training. The Jekyll Island Tri I want to do in May is kinda up in the air. The paper is saying that the Queen (Queen of England) is planning on coming to town that weekend for the Jamestown 2007 celebration and I am sure if she does I will have to work. But we will see.
