Had a great hill workout on the treadmill yesterday. Went back to my room totally tired.

Then I way overdid it at Arby's. $11 worth of food.

I have a 2 mile recovery run tonight.

Tomorrow I'm taking my first spin class. I'm excited to see how it will go.

Hey everyone!

So how's it going for you all?  I'm done with the presentation and business trip so normality returns.  Time for me to get back to the basics as I have 8 weeks until the long corse event in April.  MTB into work today, long run tomorrow in the plans. Can't wait for the "warm" weather to return!

I hope all is well, I'll be checking in this week to see how everyone's doing...

I was stoked by your race report.  20mph for 1/2 our is great!  Esp. for your first race. After IMAZ I'm going to focus on speed so I'll look to you speed demons for help!

Bluejack's right.  So tell us want's going on with your training...

I completed my Feb run challenge of 5.4 hours for the month this morning with an awesome 7 mile run with ~ 2 miles off-road on trails.  For the Bike challenge I'm at 97% of the 10.3 hours I committed to. I'm feeling bad for my swim!  I'm working mostly Bike and Run and results wise it is showing up nicely on the runs.

So for March we have a Tri-sport challenge going on.  Please come over and play to really get the training on track for the upcoming events we're all doing.  Come on and play, I can but us all on the same team to really encourage each other, so far Bluejack and I are in it

OK,
I ended up meeting my goals as of Sunday for my Feb challenge:

Total bike miles 178.53
Pace --> 160.00
weekly pace met? Yes
Total bike miles 45.50
Pace --> 45.00
weekly pace met? Yes

The 80% worked out perfectly Don. Thanks for that.

I still have 5 miles to run this week (3 miles tomorrow and 2 miles on Thursday). I'm in taper mode for my race on Saturday (10k). Goal is sub-55 mins. The course is all downhill.

I believe I'm going to skip my spin class on Tues and Thur; Please confirm that this is wise.

I will probably do some light swimming on Friday and a very short bike ride (flat, slow ride on the Big Creek Greenway - maybe 12 miles) on Friday also.

I'm in for the challenge. Just need to look at what my planned distances are for March.

IMAZ training is going...OK.  I have a lot of anxiety about my training being adequate, even though I'm following the plan fairly well.  Volume is OK.  I met my goals for the February challenge:

February's totals:
Bike:23h 5m
Run:12h 14m 28s  - 64.84 Mi
Swim:7h 3m 23s  - 20100 Yd
Strength:10m

I had time to ride my new bike twice and the seat is killing my perineum.  I need to take it outside instead of the trainer and see if the seat is Ok and how fast I will go in aero.

"If we lose this challenge, I'll kill my..." - oh, hold on a sec...only a game...(and I hate losing games)...my bike totals will be good - between teaching my weekly class, most likely picking up a class or two as a sub, and one or two long rides during the month, I should be able to put up a surplus; swim will be solid too, because fear is a good motivating factor....only thing I ask from the group, hold me accountable on the run...I need to do it, but too many years on the soccer field moving at a very high clip (for a white boy) with lots of stop/starts/cuts has taken a toll and running is easy for me to put off (because I know I can finish a 5K - the question is how badly do I want to finish at a decent pace)

First race is under my belt. Just missed my goal of sub 55 min with a 56:51 time. If I had a few more months to train, I would have hit it no problem. I'm satisfied with my results as I pretty much ran 9 min even splits.

Very proud of the Mrs. She wanted to finish under 72 mins and she actually finished around 67 mins.

Alrighty gang,

How are we doing for the March challenge?  So far I have done one each for S-B-R, this week starts to crank it up for me somewhat.  I have a planned recovery week next week than the ship really hits the fan for the last two weeks.  I'm going to be a bit aggressive early and go for at least 10% extra padding on my runs and bikes just in case a cold/illness thing starts up again in the schools this month. I have no run for error going for 100% of the TP minutes.

Abs challenge is going on too. today's session went fairly well, only shook about half as much as I did last Friday

LHablas reporting for duty, SIR!  So far, so good.  Swim and Run are clipping along nicely...Bike will pick up steam during the week, starting with tomorrow's 60 min spin class.

Here is my week:
Mon - 3-4 mile run
Tue - spin class (estimated at 15 miles) in morning; weights in the evening (maybe)
Wed - 3-4 mile run in morning
Thu - 1 hour on bike (I'm driving home from Bham that afternoon so it depends on what time I get home. That's also Thing 1's birthday so I might do a late night trainer ride).
Fri - Taking a vacation day. So I will probably put in 30-45 mins swim, 1-2 hours on the bike and 3-4 mile run.
Sat - not sure yet
Sun - LSD run of 6 miles; at least a 30 min swim.

Might try some free yoga from yogatoday.com this week.

Hey guys.  Hope all is well.

I had a good vacation and I've got things going better at work.  I'm working on the ITB with massage therapy and I'm exercising a little.  I've changed my goals.  I'm going to do the local May Day 5K and the local sprint tri in August - that's it (unless things are going great, and then I might throw in a couple of other sprints).  Other than that, I'm going to play some softball, enjoy the lake, and S-B-R when I can this summer.

Glad you enjoyed your race Jonathan.  Good Job!

I really need to start kicking up my swim training to at least 45 mins per swim.

I'm at 8%, 16% and 16% for the S-B-R respectively, so far so good.

Heck of a goal there Jonathan, I'll never do a mary!
