Run
Comments: It took us 6 minutes to get to the start line, then it took another .5 mile to get the pace up and pass the walkers, scooters, dog walkers, etc. After that i was able to go at a pace i felt comfortable. When i looked at the garmin, it was telling me 10 min mile - way too fast. I pulled up a little and made it about 2.72 miles before i decided to walk because i could walk the hill as fast as i could run it. There were many revelers and spectators cheering us on - It was very inspiring. The pepperoni wasx constantly present, but it was a fun run, so that's what i did - had fun! What would you do differently?: I would not have eaten treats before the race. Post race
Warm down: Walked to the car and got in and left nyc as soon as possible What limited your ability to perform faster: As always - training Last updated: 2006-11-22 12:00 AM

Before the race, we went to my sister's ny eve party and could not resist eating the treats - cheese dip, pepperoni, etc.
Every parking garage in the Central park area was full, and we somehow found a parking space right on central park on the street. We were waiting in line for the portopoddy and were told they were for elite athletes (How did they know we werent elite? - I guess it is my xxl shirt) I almost told them i was an elite fisherman. Found the commoners portopoddy and used it. Got in the race line about 10 minutes prior to the race start.
