But definitely a newbie.  I've already made several posts on the other boards, but I thought I'd officially introduce myself.

I'm 36 years old and work for a software company as a sales engineer (the guy who explains how the product actually works).  I've been running for a couple of years and decided to take the plunge and do tri's.  I bought a Cannondale R600 a little over a week ago and did a 30 mile ride last Saturday at 16.8 mph.  I had my first swim training last night and I'm very glad I did.

My goals are to do America's Triathlon here in Austin next May, a half Ironman in September or October, and then the ultimate goal of the Lake Placid Ironman in 2006.

Well welcome to the Board!  Austin is a beautiful city.  I will be riding with a group of friends in the Ride for the Roses.  Do you know anything about the course?  We have heard that it has some major hills!

Great to have you hear.

There's no info on the route on the web site, but you can bet there will some hills involved if you head west or southwest of Austin.
