how bout this AWESOME weather we are experiencing. Makes you want to go out and bike to your heart's content. good news though, looks like mid 50's next week!!! Out comes the bike.

i'm about ready to throw my trainer out my front door and leave it there for good.

mmmmmmm, snow. I have to say running in the snow is kind of fun, just can't go very fast. I just did an hour trainer last night watching KU pummel Colorado, I will definitely be glad when the weather shapes up.

where's the pic? If anyone wants to see my bike, I just put new tape, and new cages on, here it is, all RED'ed out!

As you can see, there is still some ice/snow on the ground! It was taken today, blah!

wow man, that is one sweet looking ride. What is the neoprene-looking attachment just behind the headset? (I'm channeling my newbie triathlete here)

that's just a bento box from all3sports.com. I like it cause it's shorter and I can pull the plastic tabs out to prevent my legs from getting all scratched up.

Nice.... It looks FAST! So is that your new bar tape or a you putting on something else? It looks good that way.. my tape is red, too, but it doesn't match my bike at all!

Nice bike, I'll get my pic up soon. I just got back from San Antonio for a work convention! I had a ton of fun, but didn't work out at all. I'm so bad...well I did walk alto, that counts...right??

both bikes look great. I'm jealous. I just went and bought me a happy, little Trek 1000 starter kit this week. F*$^%*ing rain all weekend. Haven't had a chance to ride it yet.

Well that's very thoughtful of you but i'm really not planning to ride the thing as I don't want to take the chance of getting it dirty...lol...

I've got my eye on 4 or 5 capping off my season with my first HIM in Austin in October. I'm definitely doing Topeka Tinman, SM Park, Flint Hills Tri over in Manhappiness and a few other sprinkled in depending on the date and whether my wife starts to notice I haven't been around much:-) I may also head up to Iowa for the Hyvee tri depending on the date. You?

Well, I was planning on the Big O Half, but considering it isn't a full Half, I am doing Pigman in August instead (very good race, did it last year), I will also be doing (in order) Heritage Park, Tinman Long, SMP Long, Perhaps Midwest Mayhem, Pigman, and Jackson County.

The Big "O" isn't a true half....that sucks I've already signed up. I'm going to get on the website now and see what it is. If the run is shorter that would be awesome!!! I don't care for the run much.

I'm also doing the Flint Hills, Tinman, Mayhem, KC Women's Tri, Maybe Jackson and Meltdown. I would like to travel some and do one, any suggestions on a good tri that's within a 6 or 7 hour drive??

I've been seeing some info come out on a Hyvee tri up in Iowa that is supposed to be fairly large. I've considering it myself if some dates work out...link is below...

I am planning on doing the Hertiage Park, Topeka Tinman, Shawnee Mission, Jackson Country. This is my first season so I am just doing one a month, until I turn crazy like everyone else and start signing up for half ironmans

The 1/2 ironman I am doing is in Palo, IA near Cedar Rapids. About a 4.5 hr drive. They have a sprint race earlier in the year though also.

According to the Big "O" Website-

Big O Half Iron Distance Triathlon
Swim: 1.2 Miles
Bike: 51.15 Miles
Run: 12.56 Miles (Each Lap is 6.28 Miles)

Crap if you ask me, but what do I know. Myself I would like to have known that I would be doing 70.3, not 64.91!

Yes, I saw that on the website. But, the long duathlon says there bike is 56 miles and it has the same map course as the tri...It's confusing, I may contact Bill Marshall and see whats up with all this.
