Comments:

My lack of training showed up at mile 10, where I fell apart! I definitely need to keep up with my long runs before my next half in March.

Event comments:

Interesting race -- you can choose your distance during the race. If you aren't feeling great as you are running, you can split off to the 5K or 10K. Of course, if you don't feel great after 10 miles (as I did!), you are out of luck. :)

The course is great! It's flat, and you run along the beach road. Nice views of the gulf, plus you can tell that the dunes are starting to build back up again after Hurricanes Ivan and Dennis.

They had a problem with the shirts. Turns out that the supplier shorted them 300 shirts, so of course they didn't have my size. They say they will mail it to me in a month -- we'll see if that happens.

I felt like they needed more water stations toward the end of the half marathon course. But that could have been because I was feeling so bad during the last three miles.

Good race and report. Just curious, what did you do for nutrition during the race?

Great job jolding on for the last 3 miles. All my family lives in P'cola, so I'm glad to hear the dunes are starting to come back...it was getting depressing to visit during the summer!
