Subject: Sweat running into shoes squishy feet....
Hi! It's been a while since I've posted, got a job, no more free time...anyway, my husband sweats profusely, as does all his family....so the sweat runs down his legs and into his shoes and after about 5 miles, squish, squish, squish. You get the idea. He wears DEFEET socks or underarmour socks. Asics shoes. Any advice? Is this going to be a problem in the half-ironman he's doing in two weeks. (Timberman in NH)

Thanks in advance!

Sweat bands on the ankles perhaps?

I haven't done an ironman yet, but I've run a number of marathons, and what I've done is have someone holding extra pairs of socks for me. Maybe he can have a few extras in the transition area, and switch into them during T2. Granted once your shoes get soaked there is nothing much you can do, but at least with a change of socks his feet will be somewhat dry for a while.

I sweat alot too and my sneakers are soaked by the end of my runs but rarily do they squish.

Good idea Chris. And why not have a spare set of sneakers too?

Since I run so much,I rotate 3 pairs of sneakers so that they have adequate time to dry out.
