new site is awesome..... and.... I read "THE" book (When Big Boys Tri) has to be the most inspiring book for "wannabes" like me, I couldn't put it down, I've written here before, got lots of encouragement, but my heart (literally) is not in it - - but I'm not giving up. I have a great sister-in-law who's nothing but encouragement and hey does my 'handle' say something about where I'm going??? (I've been using this "username" for a long time - maybe something/one is trying to tell me something??)
everyone is just unbelievable - thnx for just being there

Thanks Athena! Every step you take is a step closer to your first goal. Keep putting one foot in front of the other and you will get there. Just let us know what we can do to help you.

Still Tri'n,
Michael

I too was having my own motivation problems. I read something once along the lines of: Charish each work out like it might be your last...you never know what tomorow will bring, for there are those who can never train again. It may sound a little faitalistic, but to me it was a great piece of perspective. Also I think Malvey wrote something about pushing through the first six to eight weeks to reset the bodys comfort zone. Just put one foot in front of the other and Good Luck!

Hang in Athena. When I was beginning my program I had a friend (Elmer) - who helped me get a routine going. Someone called me an "Elmer wannabe." I turned that around a bit and said, "Actually I'm an Elmer gonnabe!" Wannabe is when you are dreaming about it and gonnabe is when you list a few modest goals and begin - I think you are a "gonnabe" - and... enjoy the journey. We're here to cheer you on.
