KQ by far!!!!!!!  Fairly easy to qualify for Boston if you're in good marathon shape for your AG (BQ'd on my first attempt).  Way too few slots in each AG for Kona and there are far fewer qualifying races in which you can KQ versus Boston.

Kona lottery versus BQ....now that's a different story!

Well considering your IM marathon has to be be pretty close to a BQ to qualify for Kona, I am going to have to go with Kona is harder to qualify for.

Kona is definitely harder.  A lot depends on who shows up in your age group at your qualifying event.  For Boston, you have no competition other than the clock.  Doesn't matter 1f 5,000 others beat your time, as long as you beat the man with the stopwatch!

no question BQ since to KQ all you need to do is poison everyone in your A/G. . Other that race techique KQ is much harder unless maybe if your 80 years old.

I'd say both, as I have a snowballs' chance in hell of qualifying for either


Amen brother. Really both are hard to do and most people will not make either. Kona you may get lucky via lottery or Boston you can always raise money for charity. To get there qualfied takes a special type of speed demon.
