Akkk... just got back from the dentist to learn that all the mistakes I made (and my parents made on my behalf) are coming back to haunt me.

It's too late to save some of my teeth from needing crowns, but I'm determined to do everything I can to fix what I can.

What about you all?  What's the extent of your dental hygiene?

I have very insensitive teeth...so when something hurts it means the tooth needs to go...and of course I cannot afford to cover the co pay for the work I need done on my teeth so don't go to the dentist enough....I know I am due...but damn I wish insurance was better/cheaper...I need two bridges and I am sure a host of fillings.

Hygiene - or Dental Work?

For Hygiene. I brush my teeth Everyday and try to floss every other day or so, but I wasn't always so good at flossing and I skipped going to the dentist for about 6 years.  Now I try to remember to go at least once yearly.

Dental Work - A bunch of fillings (from skipping the dentist for years) and one implant that is soon to have a crown (from having the wrong tooth pulled instead of my wisdom tooth last year.

And People wonder why I don't like to go to the dentist.

I brush twice a day and floss a few times a week, maybe every 3rd day.

I've never had a cavity or any dental work (besides braces) so I actually enjoy going to the dentist. A dentist appointment to me, just means that I will have clean teeth that feel so good to run my tongue over.

Brush morning and night, floss at night, and use a 50/50 mix of peroxide and water to swish around that mouth after brushing.

Awwwwwwwwww....Shucks....tis nothing.

Picked up the Peroxide idea from a member of the extended family.  Since they put it in toothpastes for whitening and such, she just started doing "shooters" of it.  When she told her dentist he said to keep it up.
