Hi everyone,

I'm looking for a road bike for my friend to do her first tri. She's 4'11 - 5', so she'll probably need a 40cm - 44cm frame. Anyone know of anything.

She looking to spend about $500CDN, so what's that $450US?

Let me know.

Jen

I have a 2006 Trek 1000 WSD (women specific design) that I believe is a 40cm to 42cm bike.  I think I measured the seat-tube at 15.5 inches from Center to Center.  Would be willing to sell in that price range.

The bike looks like new, has Sora compenents and has about 100 miles on it, but you'd never know.  The bike is Blue.

Let me know if you think this might work.  I will take better measurements if this sounds like something she might be interested.  Oh yeah, the wheels are 650c since the frame is so small.

You can reach me directly at [email protected]

Price is in US $.

Oipolloi,
Is this bike still available?

Hi Beth.  Yes & No.  Jen (jeng) replied to my PM and said her friend might have another deal going.  If so, then it's still available.  One other catch is that I have a local athlete who is coming over tonight to try it on.

You're welcome to email me at [email protected].

I'm going to go take more accurate measurements of the bike so I know exactly what size it is.  I'll report back in a few minutes.  (4:30-5 PM tonight).

OK.  I apologize for the poor photo with all the junk in the background, but I was kind of in a hurry.

These are the measurements I just took.

Seat-Tube: Center-Top: 43cm (Trek's sizing),  or Center-Center: 38cm.
Top-Tube: Center-Center: 47.5cm (Trek's Sizing)
Wheels:  650c

Any other questions let me know.

Hey Michael,

Thanks for the offer, but my friend did get something else and got a really good deal. Lucky her I guess. I'm sure you'll be able to sell yours too.

Now I have to do a triathlon!

Thanks again and good luck.

Based off of your size this bike should fit perfectly.  To be 100% sure stop by a local shop and try a few on.  Otherwise, the lady who is looking at it tomorrow is 5'2" and I'm going to guess the bike is just on the small side for her.

I'm asking $350 obo + 50 shipping within the USA.  I'm fairly sure a QR (quintana roo) is going to run at least triple that.

I'll let you know tomorrow night or Sunday morning if I still have the bike.

Beth,

The bike is still FOR SALE.  The lady who tried it on last night was too big for it,  5'4".

I'll PM you my personal cell phone number so you can call me with questions.
