Run now.

Would you really want to waste your time on a guy who doesn't have the motivation/social skills/intelligence/cojones to ask you out without Mama setting it up?

You'd chew this guy up and spit him out in about five minutes on a date.

Mark

Dear forgotyourself,

Would you respect someone who needed not only his mothers approval, but her assistance in getting a date with you? If no, your wasting your time, if yes, Renee is dead and someone has stolen her identity....

yours truly,

Sir Ducksalot.

Aawwwwww you say the nicest things, Welshy! Hehehehehe...

It didn't quite happen that way but, yeah, the mother began as the gatekeeper since my coworker didn't have the son's contact information.

Maybe his mom is really cool. You never know. *shrug*

Edit: Like, um, maybe you'll make a new friend. In his mom, y'know.

Wait, I have one-

Dear Jim,

Why do people ( in this case, men,) lie to people (in this case, women,) they appear to want to date? Seriously. Is it cowardice?  shame? insecurity? I think it's really lame and people (men or women) who lie to women and hurt them should get in big trouble.

Sincerely,

Honest Henrietta

Dear Double H,

Clearly, some people will conive and scheme to get what they want. But really, I think it's all about insecurity. People aren't confident enough in themselves to think that they can make the sale on their own merits, so they invent things about themselves that they wish were true. And it's too bad, because if those people would just understand that we don't want the perfect person, just the good one, maybe they wouldn't rely on crutches to boost their perceived lameness. Because everyone knows confidence is sexy.

Henrietta,

I can't speak for all men, but I think it a shame that men say anything to get into a woman's panties.  I can honestly say that you are by far the most sincere and special woman I have had the privilege of corresponding with.  I can tell by your tone that you are unappreciated and deserve more in life.  I for one feel deeply about you and look forward to meeting up say....Friday night?

-Dr. Mac (or Dr. Maxine...whichever is applicable )

Dear Jim,

What is the best approach to use when an internet stalker admirer, especially those with an oedipal complex, comes a knockin'. I've heard the sound of crickets is the only approach to use.

- Still ready to run the other way

Dear Born-to-Run,

Change your e-mail address. That's what people do when I get a bit too interested.
