Subject: RE: Dear Jim (redux) possum - 2007-02-05 4:53 PM Wait, I have one- Dear Jim, Why do people ( in this case, men,) lie to people (in this case, women,) they appear to want to date? Seriously. Is it cowardice? shame? insecurity? I think it's really lame and people (men or women) who lie to women and hurt them should get in big trouble. Sincerely, Honest Henrietta Dear Double H, Clearly, some people will conive and scheme to get what they want. But really, I think it's all about insecurity. People aren't confident enough in themselves to think that they can make the sale on their own merits, so they invent things about themselves that they wish were true. And it's too bad, because if those people would just understand that we don't want the perfect person, just the good one, maybe they wouldn't rely on crutches to boost their perceived lameness. Because everyone knows confidence is sexy. |
