Can you replace most any seat post bolt with a quick release binder bolt? Sometimes I like to put my bike inside my car (instead of the carrier) and need to remove the seat and this would be much easer.

Is it a separate collar or a brazed-on fitting?

With a collar, you should be able to easily replace the whole thing with a MTB unit. Otherwise, you may have to add some washers. But it can be done.

One other note.  A Quick release will not work on a Cervelo or QR carbon aero type seatpost
, one that uses a block to pinch the post.
