workout e5 says:

w/u

5:00 pedal easily with cadence above 80rpm

6:00 alternate every 1:00 between 100rpm and 60rpm

5:00 wrap up with easy riding at 95+rpm

main set

90:00 - 120:00 z3/rpe13-14/cp180-190

standing in a big gear at 60rpm, shift to a harder gear every 22:00. Maintain 90+rpm during recovery phase

c/d

5 min

so...i understand the w/u and c/d but wtf is the main set about? am i meant to stand for the whole 90 mins? when am i meant to do the 90+rpm?

tia a confused saph!

Maybe it's a typo "starting" in a big gear at 60rpm?

I have had the same questions about this one. The only thing I can figure is that it is a typo.

OK, I'm home
now and have the book open. It has to be a typo. It indicates rpm for a non-existant recovery phase.

there are several typos in that book, and honestly...i think e5 is the worst of them! i don't think you're supposed to stand for 2 hours.
