Subject: What Does Climb Represent in Training Log

In the training logs when a route is selected, the Climb information is included. What does this number represent? Is this the elevation gain on the route? The (elevation gain) - (elevation loss)?

The numbers in my climb look pretty high. I have been uploading a GPX file if that makes any difference.

Thanks,

Bill

It's the elevation gain. This number only takes into account gains between points on your route. If there's a drop in elevation between points that isn't added to the total.

My run last night was a good example. An out and back route that crossed through a river valley twice. I ended up exactly where I started but the mapper said I climbed 750 feet. The graph showed that was the total of two seperate climbs with equal descents before each climb.
