Anyone considering doing the MA150 this year? I know Max and Rob had a "blast" riding in the rain for part of it last year.

You can do only one day of the ride, do 75 each day, or do 100 Saturday and 75 Sunday.

There is a small registration fee and a $400 min. fund raising goal which seems reasonable to do.

You can learn more at www.msnewengland.org

I'm doing the Rhode Island one (same weekend) because my company (Fidelity Investments) is the title sponsor.  We usually put together a team of 100+ riders, but I'd love some BT company if folks want to join in!

BTW, for the RI ride the fundraising minimum is only $200.

Scott,

Interesting.....closer to my house...and I'd really like to do it with some others that I know.

Would you considering doing 100 and 75 instead of 75 each day? My coach would rather me do the longer version.

So can anyone be on your team? Any special additional requirements?

Do you just stay overnight in the group tents?

I would consider the 100 instead of the 75.  I'll check to see if the extra 25 is at the beginning or the end.  Anyone can join our team, even if they do not work for the company.  We stay in dorms wherever the overnight is, and the company picks up the registration and dorm fees (at least for the employees, I'd have to check for others).

Our company will cover the dorm and registration fees.  If you PM me with your email address, I'll send you the information.

Since others may be interested in doing this ride as well, here is the information that I have.

If you do decide to sign up, please let me know.  Thanks!

When is the Fidelity Investments MS 150 Bike Tour?

Date: June 23 & 24, 2007--celebrating its 20th year!

Mileage: Two options: 150 miles, 175 miles

Start/Finish: Cranston West High School, Cranston, RI

Overnight: Accommodations provided at Salve Regina University

How can you sign-up as a cyclist?

Fidelity Investments will cover the cost of the registration and dorm room fee for you and any non-Fidelity friend or family member who chooses to ride as part of our team. This year, all cyclists are being asked to register online. Here's how it works:

Visit: www.ms150ri.com

Click on the "Click Here to Register" link

Click on "Join a Team"

Under "Register with an Existing Team," type in "Team Fidelity"; Team Type is "Corporation"; Name of Corporation is "Fidelity Investments"

Click "Search for Team" and once the Team Fidelity link comes up, please click "Join"

Enter the Discount Code: Team Fidelity 07 (Please note: if you do not enter this code, you will be asked for credit card information and be charged for dorm room & registration fees).

Once you register online, the MS Society will mail you a packet of information that includes event information and fundraising and training tips. You will also receive your username, which will allow you to fundraise online---this is proven to be the easiest and most effective way to collect donations from family & friends!

What is the route this year?

The event will begin at Cranston West High School, where you'll begin riding highlights of the best roads from the 2006 route through Little Compton, Westport, etc to our overnight at Salve Regina in Newport, RI. On Sunday, we will traverse the Newport Bridge and continue along the coast through Wakefield and the surrounding areas back to Cranston. Please note that there will be a RI state police detail to control traffic on the Newport Bridge, as well as a private lane will be reserved for our use.

Why is it called the Fidelity Investments MS 150 Bike Tour?

Fidelity Investments is once again the naming sponsor of the MS 150 Bike Tour in RI for 2007, which is the 20th anniversary for this event! Thanks to many of your efforts, last year Team Fidelity received the following honors:

* Largest fundraiser, $76,688, which is over $21,000 more than 2005…WOW!

* Largest team, 100 cyclists, 15 volunteers

Scott,

Thanks for the information. I think I'm going to join up with you just need to double check dates with my family & coach.

Sounds like a great time and a good raising money for a good cause.
