Subject: Raleigh riding group
A colleague of mine lives in raleigh and is looking for a group of triathletes to ride with. Can someone post some suggestions, days, and locations that you get together? Thanks

I don't know of any groups of triathletes but there are Saturday and Sunday morning rides at Cycling Spoken Here in Cary. Many of the riders are triathletes as well. Saturday morning is a 50-60 mile ride that leaves at 9:30 am and Sunday morning is a 35 mile ride that leaves at 10:00 am. Both are weather permiting of course.

The bike shops that I know have rides are Cycling Spoken Here, Inside Out Sports and The Spin cycle.  your friend can do an internet search and the schedules are on the web sites.  Rides range from slow to super fast.

InsideoutSports in Cary has a couple of rides per week, not sure of the days...insideoutsports.com

They also have "trainer rides" as well.

There are a bunch of us that ride from Brier Creek Country Club in Raleigh during the week when possible but also on the weekend.  It's a less structured group, so we generally just check in with each other the week of.

I think we're planning on doing one this weekend, however b/c of a Chapel Hill 5K on Saturday, it'll either be a Saturday afternoon ride or a Sunday morning ride.  (Shoot me a PM if you want more info.)

Thanks for the information, I'll forward it to my friend in Raleigh. We attended a Cary ride one weekend from a bike shop in Cary to Jordan Lake and back. The ride was great- nice scenery, hills, etc. but the group was less than sociable. I've always heard about the roadies vs. triathletes thing, but this was my first encounter.
