Subject: Avid runner giving it a tri
I have been running for several years and beagn to feel the effects of too many miles per week on the legs. A buddy of mine recomended cross training and my intrest in triathlon has been headed skyward ever since. I think of myself as a good runner, ok biker and very poor swimmer. I didn't even realize how bad I was untill my first time out of grandmas, and into an olympic legnth pool. Fortunately for me my job is conducive to physical training (US Army) so I get all the time I need. Now im in the market for a swim coach or group in the Louisville Kentucky area. Any pointers or info would be much appreciated. GO KINGS! (Sacramento)

I made the switch from running too - saves my knees.  And tri's are great fun.  Good luck!

Kings?  What?  Sixers - woo hoo!

Welcome to the cult, Stew. The running portion of the race is hard for a lot of people, so you've got an advantage already. Good luck with your training.
