I would go to my local running shoe store and get fit for shoes. The salesperson will ask you about how much running you will be doing, can tell you if you overpronate, supinate, etc. (take your old shoes with you) and give you some choices. You can try them on and take them for a jog. Brands can be so different and it is important to get shoes that fit correctly. You also need shoes that can give you enough cushioning for a big guy. If the salespeople can't help you, go to another store.
