Race top under wetsuit?

Wear it under the wetsuit - putting a top on a wet body is an exercise in frustration and wastes time.

Ok, but what about this- if you are racing sans wetsuit, do you swim in the tri-top?

Most would say yes. That's the idea with a tri-top, it's tight enough to not drag you down in the water. Trust me, it sucks trying to hurriedly put a tight top on your wet body - it gets tangled, twisted, rolled up on itself, and eats a lot of time in transition.

Definitely wear your race top under your wetsuit - try it before race day to make sure that there are no spots that your top is going to be uncomfortable under your wetsuit (I had one tri top that I couldn't zipper up all the way while swimming with it).

As far as swimming without wetsuit in your tri top - as mentioned, it should be tight enough to not cause problems. There are some people that will cut the pockets off their tri top to avoid the pocket acting as a parachute. Personally I don't think it's an issue but if you find it a problem, you can always get out the scissors.

Definitely wear it under the wetsuit. Trying to put it ona wet body will put you in contortions that no one should attempt on race day.

You will spend to much time trying to put a tri top on over your wet body.  Your tri top will dry in minutes on the bike.

thanks for the tips...i already wear the tri top during the swim but I could nt remember if i had seen anyone with them under their wetsuit.....memory must begoing!
