Hi everyone, I have been reading this site on and off through the summer and quite enjoyed the info and banter - thanks for the smiles! A bit about myself ... got involved in triathlons through my two boys and the Kids of Steel program at their school and did 2 try-a-tri's last summer. So this year I wanted to try something longer and managed 2 sprints, a foilman and a oly, and survived them all Now facing the post-season blues, so planning to focus on some 10k running events for the fall.

Well, there I did it. I think joining the forum instead of just lurking has taken more courage than doing the tri events themselves

Thanks Bear, I feel 'official' now

The foilman was being run in conjunction with the 1/2IM, and is 1/3 the distance of that - S-950m , b-30km, r-7.? km. (I'm a Canadian gal, so all metric measurements.) It was a great confidence booster for the oly, and an inspiration for a future race (distant future that is).
