Soooo...I didn't actually realize that it's possible to be too fat for pedals....but I might just be. I picked up a pair of these Exustar E-PR70 pedals at Moutain Equipment Coop for $39 yesterday (seems like a good price, for all you Canadians):

http://www.exustar.com/pr70.php

I did not get the Ti version...just the regular Cr-Mo.

Now, I haven't actually seen anything in the package and the guy at the store didn't mention it, but the webpage clearly indicates a max rider weight of 187 lbs. I'm about 25 more than that. Is it actually going to be a problem? I'm not concerned about being able to return them or anything as the store's pretty good about that kind of thing - but I AM concerned about a pedal axle snapping 40km from home.

Should I be worried? My weight's on the way down...for what it's worth...but I doubt I'll ever get that low.

Dunno about those, but my cromo spindle pedals were fine when i was close to 400 lbs... My guess from the web site is that the rider weight limit is for the titanium spindle pedal, but your mileage may vary.

I saw those pedals before I bought mine. It may be what the bodies are made of and not the axle material. I think it says they are made from like a fiberglass reinforced thermoplastic material. Could be prone to failure with to much weight. I wouldn't think it would be any problem unless you stood up a lot or really mashed up a hill.

Thanks guys...after reviewing the website and other sales pages more carefully, I'm pretty confident that that applies to the Ti pedals and not the regular.

If my axle breaks...I promise I'll let you know!
