Subject: Pump requiring no Disc Acapter for HED 3

Any of you tri-spokers out there know of a Floor Pump that'll work with an HED 3, without having to use a Disc Adapter (aka "crack pipe" )?

Its just such a PITA to inflate my HED 3 with "Joe Blow" pump--one hand holding the crack-pipe over the tire, the other trying to operate the pump.

TIA!

I have an old Nashbar floor pump that fits in the slot with a stem adaptor, it's tight but gets the job done. Other people have cut the pump tube and inserted a small head on the pump to make it work, I've never tried that and I'm not sure where to get a small head unless you have an old pump with one. I looked on Nashbar and didn't see my pump on there anymore. Good luck.

I don't know of a head to use and if there is one, somebody post.

It helps to use tubes with threaded valve stems.

I have a pump that I could inflate my tri spoke with, but can't remember the model. I'll check and post when I get home tonight.

I had this issue when I got my HED3 and disc.  I went to Performance Bikes one night and we literally tried every pump on the floor.  I believe this is the one that I purchased.  It is a pain to pump but the only one I found that can do the job ....

I have a Blackburn that easily fits my Hed disc without an adapter.
Not sure if Hed 3 is different.
