Hello everyone. I am excited to learn that there are countless other people out there with a similar goal to complete a triathlon for the first time! I have been feeling alone in this plan of mine since I don't know of anyone around me who is interested in this sport. I am planning to "ease" myself into training for the sprint triathlon that I want to do next summer starting this fall. It would be wonderful to find a group of people around my area who are around the same fitness level as I am in. I typically run 8-10miles/week, spin once or twice a week, and swim occasionally. I have recently bought a brand new road bike in hopes of making the transition from indoor spinning to outdoor riding. Boy, biking alone on the road can be really scary, not to mention lonely . Hope someone out there can give me some info! thanks!!!

Greetings.

There are about 6-8 of us here in Atlanta who are part of this Beginner Triathlete forum. We are just now organizing group rides. I would also recommend you look into the Atlanta Multi-Sport club (the local triathlon club). They also host group training events.

If there's any way I can help, let me know.

Hey BJ,

Welcome to the forum.  I, too, am in Hotlanta.  Your arrival at BT coincides with the start of school at Georgia Tech, GSU, and Emory.  Is that a coincidence?  If you happen to be at Tech, perhaps I will see you at the pool.

In any case welcome to this group.  It does help to be part of a group with similar goals and problems and so on.

Hi there and welcome,

There is a great group of people from around the Atlanta area, all very excited about the sport. Feel free to ask anything...usually someone knows the answer.

Have fun with your training!

Welcome, I too am a Newbee to the sport also. I competed in my first tri last weekend (TRI-PTC). I train with my friend lkoczwara in the Dunwoody area. We're always looking for training partners.

Keep it up.
