Hello all!

Hi there:

Just found this site and it's great! I'm portuguese, 25yr old, and my background is in athletics (2"02 at 800m, 54" at 400m). I gave up "serious" running (bad mistake), when I joined the portuguese air force, and since then have been going in and out of several sports, but managed 3 seasons in orienteering. I'm thinking of trying thriatlon, because I always loved cycling, though I never competed. My big handicap is swimming, never did it except for fun. So I'm thinking of tring one race in about 6 months (I'm currently stationed in some portuguese islands in the middle of the atlantic, where I can't find time to train in a pool). Since i'm returning to mainland in March, i'm already training for the other events.
