Dana, maybe if you did 2 and 3 first,  #1 would come naturally.

c2fd - 2004-08-31 4:36 PM BY the end of 2004 1. finish 1/2 im sept 12, upright, before the closing time and live at least 24 hrs after. 2. if still alive- finish cape cod marathon 10/31 in under 4 hrs, hahahahha from then on really work on my sucky swimming and schedule a few sprints, 2 olys, 2 -1/2's and a late season IM in 2005. The only thing that I really need to accomplish all of this is to have "ellen" swim next to me in all the events and punch me when I slow down!!

sorry Glen, with a schedule like that, you are on your own!!

Here are my goals

2004
Complete 1/2 marathon in october
Keep off weight I've lost (90lbs)

Work on open water swimming, so I don't freak out next time.

2005

So far just planning the Wildflower Oly in May
Will probably add some 5-10k runs
Save money so I can buy more cool Tri-Stuff - Need a wetsuit, new tires for bike!!!
Enjoy this site, and hopefully not lose my job because I spend too much time here.

Hey Sanjana,

Haven't heard from you in a while? How's training going? (Sue me, I broke the thread!)

Hey Ovetta, (sorry people)
don't ask - what training? :-) - as you can see in my blog. :-( Just kidding, I'm so glad you asked.

Well, when an event is in any near future (2 months or less) I start to freak out and "suddenly" other things just "pop up". Yeah.
But I am getting smarter. Instead of beating myself up for starting AGAIN, now I call it "a pause" (....after 5th time or so "starting again" I started only to feel very stupid.... ) and try to be proud for not give up! Sometimes it actually works!! ;-)

Really it is NOT "starting again" b/c when I do train I see real improvements. Actually looking forward to long months of training (no events=no freaking) - it is my chance to prepare good for The First One!

My goals:

1. To enjoy at the BT Mock-Tri, October 16
2. Within one year from now to be real 3athlete! For me, it means:
o 3s as a part of my normal (=blissful, wonderful, new) life
o to compete in 3 or more sprints and ENJOY each one of them = summer 2005
o starting Oly program = Oct 2005
o well… as a result…. should I mention it… BF 19%
3. Rowing class = spring 2005 or before
4. To be strong! for me, it means to be able to do at least 5 one-legged squats and one-arm pushups

How to achieve my goals #2 and #4:

1. Base building:
o 8-month Sprint combo (Couch to 5k + Sprint)
o regular commuting + spinning class (when it gets dark'n'cold outside)
o join the gym and use their devices, but be as much as possible outdoors, get tough'n'wild

2. core strength: David Girsaffi’s abs program level 1 to 7

3. flexibility and more core strength:
o hatha yoga,
o Zen yoga class,
o Thomas Kurtz’s progression for flexibility and core strength – link http://www.stadion.com/column_stretch20.htmland other articles

4. The last but not the least - mental preparation: visualization, affirmations

I'm so happy!!!!
:-) :-) :-) :-)

First of all, I’ve to perform my training plan.
Afterwards and according to the feelings, I'll see what I can project.
Luck for all.

My goal is to enjoy the 4 weeks between my last race (Oct 31) and the start of my IMAZ training (beginning of Dec)
I don't have any time goals for my last 2 races, I just want to stay healthy and have fun.

...oh and lose a ton of weight. No more Clydesdale for me thank you!
