Subject: AZ is effectively on West coast time?

Hi all,

I just wanted to check, because there have been several changes in dyalight savings time lately.

Arizona is in the mountain time zone but does no t observe DST. So, it's effectively 3 hours before eastern time now, right?

(Want to have ti straight before I email friends about IMAZ and online tracking, etc

thanks!
tom

Correct...if it helps, it is 8:26 CST right now and 6:26 in AZ.

I know this because I'm going to be finishing near last and I feel really bad asking anyone to stay up late watching me finish online. For east coast it is even later!

Thanks! I was hoping they'd be MST, since that would mean sunset would be ~8pm, but I believe it'll be right around 7pm on race day. here's dreaming that I finish before hte sun does! Hehheh.

Oh, see, I KNOW I'll be in the dark, but I'm saying it is to my advantage, that I will still be on the bike in the heat of the day and I'll GET to run a much cooler marathon than most!

AZ never follows DST, so it always gets dark a bit earlier there, and light a bit earlier of course.

Today sunrise at 6:09 and sunset at 6:52, so you were right on.

The lighter morning will be nice though so there won't be as much pitch-black fumbling around before the race.
