Run
  • 30m 5s
  • 3.11 miles
  • 09m 40s  min/mile
Comments:

Started at back of pack - - maybe too far back lots of folks to wade through before things opened up. - felt pretty good at mile 1 was on pace - mile two was also on pace. I probably picked it up a little too early before last 1.1 K - i did pass many more than passed me
What would you do differently?:

start more to middle of the pack, wait a little longer before picking it up at the end
Post race
Warm down:

walked around a bit - gatorade - cheered some of the last folks in.. dropped off #2 kids went with #1 for breakfast

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Damn cold, started at back of pack and had a lot of slower people to get around in pretty tight quarters

Event comments:

Friendly group - wish I could have stayed for after race stuff but had to take #2 cost center to dance class

Congratulations on finishing your first race RIGHT ON target!!!!

Pacing is different for every one; I'm glad you're starting to figure out what works for you.

I usually like to start running races somewhere around middle of the pack because it ensures me that I won't go out too fast, a mistake I've made more often than not.

Great job. Can't wait for your first tri.
