Subject: Planet X, ElementSix, Velovie, Pedal Force Frame Questions
I've been doing some research on the Planet X Pro Carbon Frame. After reading ive heard that all these companies listed in the title use the same carbon frame. Since the price differs on all of them i was wondering if anyone knows for sure. I also saw on Slowtwitch that the planet x and the element six only last for approx. 400-500 miles. That seems low to me but im just trying to get my facts straight. Here are some of the links ive found.

Thanks for all the help.

Yes, they are the same frame. I think the 400-500 miles was actually meant to be 400-500 dollars. I know for Planet X, their US distributor is Zedsports. You can get their tri-bike built for about 2500.00 with a DA build kit. No idea on the other companies. From everything I understand, Planet X also has really good customer service. Again, no idea on the other companies.

By no means am I business major, but this is my opinion on the 4+ companies offering the same frame. Planet X designs the frame and pays for the carbon mold, marketing, R&D, etc. This probably runs around 500k (a total guesstimate on my part). They are a small company though and that is a lot of money, so to offset the cost they sell the frame to other companies and allow them to rebadge it to help offset the cost. Their are a few other smaller bike companies doing this as well, not just with frames but with wheels and other carbon parts as well.

JeepFleeb (Aaron) will probably know all about this - he is the proud owner of a very sweet lookin' Planet X tribike. I'd ask him.
