Hey everyone! Anyone doing the women's tri this year? I'm looking for groups of females who want to do some open water swimming starting middle to end of May. I'm already signed up and recruiting friends and family give it a tri :-) This is a great race and worth doing. The swim was a little crazy last year and this year I want to have more open water hours logged.

If you don't know anything about this race visit http://gamultisports.com/

A few of us from NAMC are doing it.  Great group of chicks to train with.  One of them is actually 1/2 Dolphin (this statement comes from her husband, so it's probably true).  Definitely will be heading to Dallas landing for some OWS in May - Sept.  I'll post on the forum when I'll be heading out.  Please do likewise.

I'm planning on doing that race.  It was great last year!  I'm open for OWS anytime people want to get together....once it gets non-wetsuit temps!

Elena, I knew you had to be referring to Courtney.

Jess, I did this race too and the start was kind of crazy. Are you in the 30-34 age group? I had a problem swimming straight so I didn't get mixed up in the washing machine that happened at the start but I heard about it. I'll probably do it again this year. I think it's a well organized and supported race. GA Multisports does an awesome job with their races.

Mindy, I was in that age group last year.  Ended up with some chick attempting to draft off me and kept grabbing my ankles, which slowed both of us down.  I couldn't decide whether to stop and let her run into me or kick her in the face.  When I zigged intentionally she zigged, so misdirection was not throwing her off my feet.  Idiot.  The thing was - we had at least a 7 foot radius in all directions of open lake around us.  I eventually sped up and dropped her, but it still chaps my @$$ to this day.  Just rude.  If you're going to draft and no one else is around us, please don't grab my ankles on every stroke.

Fortunately for my first tri I was in the last wave 40-44 and it wasn't too bad. This year I get to be in the 45-49 wave! Advantages of getting older!
GA Multisport will be putting on two swim clinics at the race site - one on 6/9 and 6/30 that you may also want to check out.
