How about 'Baby'. It always works for me, whenever I'm on a long climb or brutal headwind I'm always muttering "come on Baby, just a little more".

P.S. just bought the same bike and love it.

excuse me here...

is that the cool thing to do, name your bike?

No...reading this thread you get the impression that it is, but it isn't...what's next name your car, too?

Look for ball bearings...
...or check the crank...

If it has a kickstand, it's a male for sure.

If you have two holes on your bike, you may have a problem.

windnsnow: I’m confused now…Kickstand? I thought the gender was already specified?! Sounds more like a shemale now.

Snow White was already proposed, what about “Queen” or “Snow Cat”.
If you change your mind and would like to go with French: "La Reigne"

My “Babe” (ball bearings and a long extension in front) is flying with me up the hills and he’s a real race machine.

And @ US50090: What’s wrong with naming the car? My Sweeetie brings me everywhere.

Andy

Call it Arthur.....

Then, during your IM, you can have this conversation with a race official before leaving T1.....

Race Official: What is ye bike's name?
You: Arthur, King of the Bikes.
Race Official: What is ye quest?
You: I seeketh the prize for first in my AG.
Race Official: What is the ground speed velocity of an unladen Cervelo
You: What, what do you mean....an aluminum or carbon fiber Cervelo?
Race Official: Wha, I don't kno, AAAAAAAAAAAAGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHH! (screamed as he goes flying off into the abyss)

You are now free to leave T1 and continue with your quest....all because you had enough foresight to name your bike Arthur.

I'd go away from the 'silver' names, unless it's "whoa silver".

How about Platinum in the name?

Okay, I'm thinking Elipsis...

Think about it, she has a big E (Elipsis). And what is an elipsis...? Three dots that mean something that goes on and on...

Any thoughts?

Okay, I'll play...

One is called the pinarello--not pinny, not miguel indurain.

The other is called the alumicross commuter (Miyata cyclocross once used to carry kids, then used to pull kids and now, with paniers used to take me to work.

One is called the old purple thing...i.e. old peugeot  cross bike.

Since it sems everyone (around here) has a Cervelo - and frankly, being of the modest nature, I don't really like announcing that I'm riding the "in" brand.

And I get your point, broompatrol, this new bike will do nothing but ride on the highway or in races.

I appreciate your point of view.

Sometimes a little frivolous fun is healthy.

Thanks for the idea...I like where you are going with it, sorta like "white gold"

Platinum doesn't work for me, in French, "plat" means boring...it means plate too, for those of you running for your Petit Larousse.

If you really want to name your bike then I suggest you go for a really long hard ride. A ride that leaves you so wasted you have to sit in the shower trembling with fatigue and pain while the shower rinses the white crust off of you. If you are able to look at that bike again..then the name will come.

That is the wisest think I've heard in ages. Thank you...I've got one of those rides planned after my sprint in a few weeks...I will certainly take your advice.
