I'm 6'1 - 215-200 (Still Losing weight) looking for a entry level wetsuit for my first tri. Please let me know if your selling one or where I could find a great deal. The local store that rents them doesn't have my size.

Thanks,

Hinch

Costco.com  has the one shown below.  Not specifically a tri wetsuit and it's not an Orca or a De Soto, but for $70 it may work.  I bought one (arrives Tues).

The HYPER-FX is a 3/2 wetsuit featuring 3mm Ultrastretch neoprene through the torso for maximum flexibility and warmth and 2mm Superstretch neoprene in strategically placed panels on the back, legs and side for maximum fit and mobility

I gave it a go in the pool today (68 degrees).  Bouyancy was good and I wasn't cold, except my face.  I swam around for about 15 minutes and didn't feel restricted. This will work for me.  If I end up doing more OWS or more Tri's that require a suit, then maybe I'll step up.

How did you determine the right size? I don't see a sizing chart.

I went to US Divers website.  I'm 6'2'' and 190 lbs.  The XL works for me.

Check out here. http://www.kayakproshop.com/triathlonsuits.html  Got it delivered for under $100. Good quality for a entry level tri suit.  I am 6'3 about 193 and a XL fit great.

What makes it a tri-specific wetsuit?

I've been told that  a tri suit compaired to a surfing or waterskiing suit. It's a little more flexiable in the shoulders and some other places.

What makes it a tri-specific wetsuit?

I've also heard that the tri suits have different thickness in various parts of the suit to help with bouyancy. For example, there would be a thicker material around the core and lower body, rather than the arms or lower legs.

After all, there better be some fancy stuff going on, otherwise the prices aren't justified.
