Pre-race routine:

don't have a routine, treated it like any other 5k (big for me) run
Event warmup:

slow walk inside. lots of holding stretch exercises. 4 oz gatorade 1/2 hour to start.

1st organized run.
open road, lots of ice to contend with.
fun enough to get me hooked.
What would you do differently?:

no new gear in race day

What limited your ability to perform faster:

- would have run better if I didn't have to worry about slipping on ice patches
- treated race as training exercise
- wore new gear and overheated/froze
