Lance's Announcement

I watched it this morning when I woke up. Pretty cool if he does run in the NYC Marathon. The chopper was way cool too! Making the gas tank look like his TT helmet was a nice touch. I can't wait to see the American Chopper episodes for it. I guess since Discovery Communications is now the new team title sponsor and AC is one of their shows, that they picked up the bill for the bike I've never really seen an interview with Lance and I have to say that I was impressed with his demeanor.

Yes I saw the announcement. It actually made me wonder if he was considering returning to Tri.

He has never been shy about his aspirations to return to tri, after retirement. He has said he would like to do Kona, because of his respect for those athletes. I will be interesting, though, to see how long it is a 'hobby'...something tells me he isn't able to do anything halfway :-)

Lance started as a triathlete even before he was a cyclist. It was tri'ing that got him into cycling. He also started doing tris in his teens. Geez, talk about overachiever.

I was thinking of entering the NY lottery for the marathon this year, but instead I decided to do the Chicago Marathon and now I'm kicking myself because this could be the only chance I could be in a race with Lance if he decides to run NY.

I did read somewhere that he might want to do Hawaii IM. before turning to pro cycling he was national sprint distance champion. I thought the same thing when I heard it, the NYC marathon would be a tune up for an IM tri.
BTW, Cheryl Crow is a triathlete also.

Cheryl Crow? Didn't know, got any more info on that?

This month's Triathlete Magazine has an interview with Lance, and an article, too (I think). He was not all that encouraging that he will do an Ironman any time soon.
