I'm in the market to buy a floor pump with pressure gauge and wondered if any of you had any recommendations. Looking for good quality, ease of use, reliable, price etc.

thanks!

This is what I use and I like it. Seemed pretty reasonable as well. http://www.rei.com/product/4439936.htm?

I have a Specialized floor pump and have no complaints. You might try Nashbar's brand from the catalog if you're looking to save a few dollars though. I've never had a pump but everything else I have gotten from there has been of good quality.

I would have done that but I needed a pump right away and couldn't wait for it to be shipped.

When I saw the Whiz responding to a thread on Floor Pumps, I was sure she would be talking about fashion footwear, like this little number from Anne Klein:

That is a nice pump. Can't argue with that, bear.... although I'm not sure how it will effect my pronation while running. (??) What do you think??? I might need something with more midsole support. Do you have any other styles available? Something strappy?

I thought pronating in public was illegal. But if you've got to do it, those shoes fit the bill.

crap that's right.. no white after labor day...  i thought that old rule was out the window..

Dang, now I need to go find a new tri-jersey for my event next weekend. Thank God for this site, you guys, and your fashion tips. Could have been "fashion faux pas" city for the bear.

Isn't that the truth? I've been hurrying up to wear all my white pants and white shoes this week...even though the weather hasn't been totally cooperative... I don't want to be a GLAMOUR "DON'T."

As far as your jersey... I think white on top is OK throughout the year... I'm pretty sure (Oh Lord, I hope I'm right!!!) WHITE after Labor day is only a faux pas if it's pants or shoes... White shirts/sweaters/jerseys should be OK... And if not, I'm giving you permission. White on top is RIGHT... White below the waist is wrong after Labor day.

Whizzer's fashion rules of thumb(?) That and a $3.50 will probably get you a nice cup of coffee @ Starbucks.

Nope. It's ONLY shoes. I got into a discussion about this with someone a few weeks ago and they went and looked it up. I think white pants are always a faux pas, but that's only because every time I've worn them, I sat in something. It only applies to me.

Apparently the rule about white shoes after labor day was established just so that the bourgeoisie could find eachother and make fun of all the poor saps who weren't rich enough to know the rules.

Not a bad call. Even though it's not necessarily a fashion faux pas, white pants are a little too summer-y for this time of year.

What the hell am I talking about? You should see how I dress.... certainly nothing to aspire to....

White shoes are bad, but WINTER WHITE are ok - Like if you got a soft, buttery suede boot in winter white...mmmmm and not the UGG-ly ones that are all over the Urban Outfitters catalogs. White pants, depends on the fabric - twill bad, wool gab good.
I also tend to spill on my whites tho - drop cookie, brownie, coffee, whatever stains. Why don't they ever drop onto brown or grey pants?

Go to Lowes or a sporting good store and buy an air compressor. I had a really hard time with my floor pump...COuld never get the pressure where it needed to be. I bought an air compressor at Lowes for $37.98 at it works beautifully. I saw some at a sporting good store for $20 after I got mine at Lowes. Also Mine has a rechargable battery and an emergency light and with Hurricaine Frances bearing down on us I am doubly glad to have a light. Hope this helps -S
