WOW!! What a GREAT experience yesterday!! I was awefully nervous but focused on doing MY race and brought it home 11 minutes faster than my goal. Congrat's to all! Thanks, thanks, thanks to BT.com for the training program, forums, and community -- I could not have done it without 'ya! I'll be doing the North East Tri in Maryland August 26 -- it is another CGI organized race so I'm optimistic it will be well planned.

I did my first OLY on Sunday and just loved it! That venue was just fantastic. I am one of the founders of the Jersey Shore Tri Club and was at the RV by the tree in the center....forgot to go over to the BT tent....really wanted to meet some people. My daughter looked up at me and said "daddy...can you go home with us right NOW?" so I didn't stick around long! What an event. Considering the NorthEast as well.

While we're all on a high...Is anyone up for the "Buckman" Olympic/Sprint out in Round Valley? Greenbrookracing.com

Same guys who ran the operations of the race yesterday (not the race directors) are doing that race.

Maybe we can get a BT get-together there.

The Buckman looks good -- a little short on the swim but makes up for it with what looks like a tougher bike segment.

Race photos are now available through the website.

I look like I was in pain in every picture, how come I'm so happy about it now?

ugh, the pictures won't load for me more than once!  I saw mine, now they won't load up.  I found my friends Jennifer and Kathy, can't see them anymore.  Found Mary and Carol - same thing.  It's like a one-shot deal.  You think it's just because so many people are looking at newly posted photos?

Time to share those bib #s so we can all see - I'll start, 515.

I'm #1454, I looked pained on the run picture but really I was smiling at the finish. Personal best on the run portion.

Can someone tell me where the tent was on Saturday? I looked around with my two kids in tow and couldn't find my fellow BT-ers.

congrats on the PB on the run - love it that they took photos, but its not always our most photogenic moment, right?

as for the BT tent, there wasn't one... I had a banner ready to hang, but i misunderstood that in order for us to have a place to hang it i'd need to also bring and set up a tent myself. that was a little much for me to handle on my lonesome (and would have meant i'd have to get there alot earlier than i'd originally planned), so next time if we get a little better organized with more hands to help out, it will be a more cohesive group presence.

Just to let everyone that is unfamiliar with the race know....last year I was waiting in line to get into transition at about 4:50AM. I was about #5 in line. I was still unable to get the end spot on my rack - one of the four people in front of me was assigned the same rack and took the end spot!!!!!!!!! So be on your toes. Sometimes 5AM isn't even early enough!

Yeah..and 1400-1500 entrants for the sprint expected versus around 1100 last year. HUGE FIELD.
I doubt I will be there at 450am, even though I live up the street..literally, At some point it becomes ridiculous to be #1 on the rack, but I will probably shoot for earlier than last year.

Let's hope this nice weather continues!

FYI: I was at the park today. The water is relatively warm...I would guess 79-80, maybe more? I tested it at the swim exit (i.e., the boat ramp) which might be a little warmer than mid-lake or the start, but very very doubtful that its going to be wetsuit legal.

I did the same and the water is definitely pretty toasty. For what it's worth there's a ton of potholes and things to watch out for on Hughes Drive which is the 1st road you turn out on out of the park. Was veering all over the place to avoid them especially right at the turn onto Quakerbridge Rd.

FYI: the R/D posted the temp on the Oly site...and it was 78 at mid lake at 10am on Sunday. So I guess there is a chance that it could go WS legal, especially with some rain expected this week. I am still betting that we are suitless though.

Agreed on Hughes..its a horrible road. The good news is that everything else after that is in pretty good shape (or maybe it just seems that way after you turn off of Hughes
