I have to check with hubby on this one. May 8th is my birthday and he always plans a day of events for me (that I am unaware of until that day). I am pretty sure we are already booked. Thanks for putting this out there though.

I am interested, as long as I can get a sitter. Do you bring your bike with you, or just work on one at the shop?

Typically, you bring your bike with you. They will usually show you how to change a tire and do some basic maint..i.e, lube and clean the bike.

For the maint clinic at Ulitmate Bike a few months ago we only had to bring our front tire (to learn how to change a flat).  The rest was demonstrations with one of their bikes mounted in their shop.  It's easy to see that stuff and go home and try it yourself (clean chain, minor adjustments to cables, etc).  Changing a tire, however, is different and requires some practice.
