Subject: Bike Gear Question
I tried searching the forums and articles first but...

Is there an advantage to being on the big sprocket in the front due to its size, or does in not matter as long as the wheel turns the same amount per pedal revolution?

Subject: RE: Bike Gear Question
I think I remeber reading something about the big ring being theoretically more efficient as it reduces energy lost in the drivetrain (due to the bend in the chain or something like that).  But don't quote me on that and, even if true, it's so small as to not be worth worrying about.  Put your bike in the gear that allows you to spin at a comfortable cadence and put out consistent power.
