Subject: Too soon to race?
i've just recently gotten into triing. i was planning on getting into shape before entering any races but i was just surfing for races and i saw that the reebok women's race is in a month. i know they have a "supersprint" for people who are like me and not really in race condition yet. but i'm still nervous. i don't know if i will be ready.

but what's the worst that will happen. i'll come in last place.

EDIT: can you tell i'm nervous? i used the word "race" 3 times in a single sentence...

Good for you! I'd say go for it, but instead of bodysurfing, you need to start slicing through that water! :-)

Seriously, if you can do the run distance, you should sign up for it. It would be a great way to gauge where you're at, what strengths and weaknesses you might have, and you'll recover quick enough from it that you won't be drained for a week.

Plus, you'll be addicted like the rest of us, and the more people that we can get to enter races, the more entry fees might come down!

but i'm nervous about transitions and things like that... i feel like such a geek. i should just go out and do it. why am i so hesitant?!?
