SoR is going to be my first HIM, and I am really excited about it. My main goal is just to finish with a smile on my face, but my "secret" goal is sub 6. I'd also be THRILLED with 5:59:59.

I am behind on my biking minutes, but am confident that I'll be ready by July. My main worry is nutrition, and also the potential chop/waves in the lake. I did my first OW swim yesterday and it was kind of choppy, and I felt dizzy at times. So now I'm a little worried about getting nauseus, but I think I'll be ok. Adrenaline is a wonderful thing.

Anyone know what the lake is usually like?

Can't wait to meet you all!

I am happy to be back in training mode after my sickness/recovery from my marathon. I think skipping 50k was the best thing I ever done. Unless I would finished it in 7:59. .

ditto on the nutrition.... I was just thinking about that today... What should I be eating b4 the tri, during, after? What to drink? How much gel? I've read that eating too much gel or whatever can give you some serious GI problems... Eating too less will make you bonk... If you get an idea or an article... let me know....

SoR is my first Tri and therefore my first HIM. I've only done marathons and jumped in after I got a road bike. After reading some stories, I'm wondering if I should have done a sprint or oly first. But to be honest, 161 dollars isn't chump change. I'm excited of the challenge, yet fearful of the dreaded DNF. Without doing any TRI's in my life, I'm worried about nutrition, transitions, and bonking.... Glad to be in the same boat with so many other first timers...

Swim--Refined my techniqe after swimming w/ a Masters Swim Club. Learning to swim like a fish. I have to do some OWS w/ the wetsuit though... Will probably try it out @ the lakefront.. If anyone wants to do a swim, i'm game...

Bike--A little worried. The one 58 miler I did totally exhausted me. However, I did a 35 miler w/ hammer gel and felt like i could go on forever...

Run--I don't have my run legs in and I have to do some work

Maybe someone can help me...I've seen mention a few times of a video of past Spirit of Racine races.  Does anyone know where you can find a link to the videos?  I looked on the race site already - maybe I'm blind

I believe Fox Sports Midwest would be the place to start....I remember watching the race last year on TV. It was on Comcast sports in Chicago but it was a Fox production (or at least that is how I remember it)
