First, I'm a total newbie/BOP swimmer, and am new to alot of the swim/pool culture.

I read many of fellow BT'ers swim pace (usually with much envy!) and was wondering if people express their swim pace as:

I express it however the question is asked (i.e., pace in an oly, HIM, 1000m TT, etc.).  If no constraint is given, I typically use pace for 1000m TT which is my standard testing distance to track my progress.

I would have to say that I would go with my 1000 yard TT time when asked.  At least that is what I call my T-Pace (instead of the usual 3 x 300 with the average of that).

Yeah, I guess I would just call my "per 100" my T-Pace.

If you're talking about the logs - that's just my average.

I generally refer to the average 100m pace I hold throughout the whole workout.

If I were to go to a new pool for a masters and they asked what my 100 yard pace is, I'd give them the number that I can maintain for at least 10 with short (10 -15 seconds) intervals.  IMHO, that's the only relevant number and will tell you which lane you can fit in with.

I just say 2 minutes per 100. It's easier to do the math that way
