Run
Comments: About .5 mile into this run, it DOWNPOURED. And rain + 55 degrees = COLD. I wasn't racing this, though -- I raced the 10k and just decided to run the 5k. As it turns out, all the fast women did the 10k and if I would have raced the 5k I could have taken 2nd or 3rd in my AG. :) No biggee. :) Overall, though, it was a good race. Started out easy and kept getting (marginally) faster with each mile. And it's amazing how SHORT a 5k feels after you've just run a 10k. What would you do differently?: Nada. Post race
Warm down: Had some food and then went home. I was soaked to the bone and cold and didn't feel like standing around, seeing as how I was pretty sure that I wasn't winning any awards. What limited your ability to perform faster: Racing the 10k beforehand and the rain. Event comments: Again - cool race. I'll do this one again, based on the unique feature of being able to do the "Double" -- both the 10k and 5k. And the post-race food/activities were exceptional. Large race -- easily over 1000 runners for the 10k and 5k combined. Chip-timed, which was a nice touch. Last updated: 2007-05-29 12:00 AM
